Your display board gets a chance to speak about your elementary science fair project even before you get a chance to speak. So I would advise you pay some good attention to it, as this will be the first thing that the judges will examine.

Here are some elements that go into making the perfect display board for your elementary science fair:

Your Supplies: Your display board must be made up of hard cardboard or plywood. A wooden board may be very heavy to be carried around. It should consist of three panels that can be slightly folded to make the board stand on its own. Avoid using a poster board as it can get warped and fall over, causing you embarrassment. Cover the display board with a decent colored contact paper, fabric or wallpaper. Your Color Scheme: You must not use more than 3 contrasting colors. The background can be white, light blue, yellow or some light color. The title and the subtitles must have darker colors such as dark green, dark blue or red. Make your papers and reports stand out by putting a dark colored border made of construction paper around them. Never use neon colors as they do not look professional and would distract the onlooker from the theme of the project. Your Layout: Now we come to the most important part of your elementary science fair display. Your display board must be simple, and neatly organized. Title: Your title is actually your conclusion in short. The letters used for the title should be large and should be placed on the top part of the central panel. Pages displayed:The print on the report pages must be large enough with important points well highlighted so that the person standing at your display table can read them clearly. Diagrams: Create relevant drawings using pencil first and then colors. Use an opaque projector if you have access to one. Photographs: Photographs display articles or equipment that cannot be carried to the elementary science fair. They also display you in action during different stages of the experiment. They make your display lively and tend to attract attention. A base: Your display board must be placed on a sturdy table covered with a light colored table cloth in keeping with your color scheme. Place neatly labeled copies of your abstract, project report and your journal on the table neatly. If you're going to try your hand at reverse painting on glass, then you probably already know exactly what you are going to use for a pattern. You may still be thinking about how you can adapt it to suit your need, but I'll bet you already know the main subject of your painting. If you want to do a reverse glass painting, On the other hand, if you want to do a reverse glass painting, but do not know where to begin, try painting what you really love about life, or are avidly interested in. This way, there will at least be a spark to keep going through the hard parts! You're also more likely to do a better job of something you love.

Horses you say? Lighthouses? Roses? The possibilities are endless. Use your imagination!

O K, now that we're all on the same page, let's figure this out! We have a postcard from our vacation, or a photo of a dear relative fishing, what ever it is that you want to work from, but it's only 4" x 6" large. You could send it out to a photo company and get it enlarged to a poster size. That answer is all right, but somewhat expensive and time consuming. Sometimes it does take some time for me to think out a painting, but more often than not, when I"m jazzed about painting, I'm jazzed!, and I want to work on it now! You could take the photo to your local office supply store, and see what they can do with it. Now that's not usually too expensive, and you may get more of a variety of sizes to work with. Remember, you do not need a photographic quality paper for this adventure. All you are going to need is a picture that you can see, up to and including some detail. One more way to get the size you want is to print out a multi-page poster on an all in one center. And yet my final method of enlarging a photo to the size you would need to work with, is by using an opaque projector. If you are planning on doing a lot of painting, it might be worth the to several hundred dollars that you'll need to invest, but a word of caution on that. I have one, and I don't use it nearly as often as I use the all in one, and at a comparative price!

Now a few lines, only if you're using the all in one center. Take the four, six or eight pages that you printed out, and trim off the edges. Use a large table top to arrange them into the picture you wanted. Carefully tape them together, so that every thing is lined up and even. If it isn't lined up nicely, you might end up putting three arms on one person. Go ahead and laugh, yes I've done it.

Once again, we're back on the same page, but further along in the plan.
Lay the picture on top of that large table you were working on, face up, so you can look at it. Take your piece of glass or acetone, and lay it over the picture. Move it around as much as possible, keeping the picture within the limits of the glass your main focus. You may have thought that the main subject should be centered. That's not always so. If it's your grandchild, don't have him or her standing up high in the painting unless he or she has something to stand on! A lot of buildings are beautiful to look at, but they might be more alluring set part way back in a reverse glass painting.

Now that you have a good placement to build on, get out the tape again. If there are edges of parer an inch or two wide, this is helpful. You can fold them over the glass, and firmly tape them in place. If there aren't any edges, this is just a little tricky. Reach under the glass, and hold the photo in place while turning the glass and the photo over at the same time, and laying it on the table. Now tape it in place from the back side of the photo.

Now you are ready to begin your reverse painting on glass. You will want a work area that can remain undisturbed for days at a time. This is in case other things, like work and life should come up, and there isn't time to paint. Take it slow. Think about what the last thing to come into the painting was. That is what needs to be painted first. It works exactly the opposite of an oil painting on canvass. So what are you waiting for? Get busy and start painting!

From the video game industry to the construction industry, 3D laser scanning services are used to record the spatial data of objects, structures and environments and reconstruct it into polygon mesh models, surface models and solid CAD models that can be used to produce a variety of products, preserve or re-engineer certain aspects of buildings or monuments and judge the best excavation or building practices in relation to a specific terrain. But to whatever end laser scanning is used, it all begins with using the right 3D laser scanning equipment. In general, using the right type of laser scanner depends first on the size of the subject matter. For example, surveying buildings or monuments requires laser surveying equipment that can gather data from a significant distance, such as a non-contact time-of-flight laser scanner, while smaller objects, especially those that have significant detail and whose surfaces make them a poor candidate for contact scanners, require a non-contact scanner that is capable of gathering detail at close range, such as triangulation laser scanner or a structured-light laser scanner. In this article, we present an overview of the latter.

Like triangulation laser scanners, structured light scanners use a camera to capture the spatial data of their subject. But instead of projecting a laser, they project light patterns that often take the form of stripes. By projecting narrow bands of light onto three-dimensional objects, structured-light scanners produce a line of illumination that appears distorted to the naked eye but is used to gather data for the precise geometric reconstruction of the subject. The applications for structured-light surveying are numerous and include the following: body shape measurements, forensic inspections, measurement of road surface quality, measurement of wrinkles in cloth and other materials, measurement of skin surface for cosmetics, gathering data on objects of cultural heritage, measurement for determining the radius of cutting tool blades, measurement for the classification of grinding surfaces, measurement of combustion chamber volume in machines, precision measurement for production control and reverse engineering.

Structured-light scanners can emit various patterns of structured light, but the emission of numerous stripes tends to be the preferred method and falls into two categories: laser interference and projection. Using two wide planar laser beam fronts, the interference method creates numerous lines of equal distance apart and is typically used for the precise and easy scanning of fine patterns at an unlimited depth of view, such as measuring skin surface for cosmetic purposes. The projection method, on the other hand, uses no coherent lighting pattern, instead working like a video projector and generating patterns from a display within the projector. While both methods of structured-light 3d laser scanning services are valued for their ability to scan fine surfaces at a great depth, they typically prove ineffective at scanning reflective, transparent and semi-transparent surfaces. Not "In It" For the Money

Most practicing English language teachers, especially EFL teachers are not "in it for the money". Instead, they have other aspects of teaching English as a foreign language that reward or satisfy them such as shorter work weeks, extensive vacation and holiday schedules, and travel abroad opportunities, among many others. Nonetheless, EFL learners can irk even those with the patience of Job.

Here are three distinctive examples of EFL classroom-related problems and some suggested management strategies for them:

1. Students Don't Have a Course Book

This can be an especially acute problem when teaching a course book-based program.

Try some or all of these strategies:

o Write all key lesson material on the board for learners to view and perhaps copy into their notebooks

o Project course book pages on a screen or the board using an Overhead Projector (OHP) or opaque projector for learners to note key items and exercises

o Make use of realia or alternative teaching methods for the theme being taught

2. Students Don't Prepare Properly for English or Foreign Language Classes

If the number of class contact hours per week is very low, say for example less than four or five hours per week, there may be few other options available to the teacher outside of assigning homework or projects to be done outside of class hours. Clear art glazes can be poured over the tiles or brushed on in three coats (making sure that each coat is completely dry before applying the next one).
